President Barack Obama has unveiled an initiative to train military veterans for careers in the solar-energy industry. Under the Solar Ready Vets Program, the Department of Defense and the Department of Energy will seek to help military veterans learn skills that are needed to work in the industry after they leave the armed forces. The initiative will be launched at 10 military bases around the United States.
